Kandy Cafe sits comfortably on Bushey Hall Road as a straightforward, no-frills spot where the local rhythm really comes through. This is a classic neighborhood cafe favored by commuters, journalists, and nearby workers looking for a solid breakfast or a well-made coffee to get the day rolling.

The atmosphere is quietly welcoming—nothing flashy, but noticeably cozy with a sense of ease that encourages lingering, whether you're settling in for some remote work or catching up over a casual meal. The staff have a friendly, approachable manner, adding to that low-key, community vibe.

As you’d expect from a place leaning into its British cafe roots, the menu focuses on hearty, familiar choices done well. Full breakfasts stand out with attention to detail like butter-cooked mushrooms and substantial bacon loin, emphasizing quality over quantity. For lighter midday or afternoon stops, options like cheesy sandwiches, tuna salad, or a bacon cheeseburger offer solid, comforting sandwiches without pretense. On the sweeter side, homey treats like their Kandy Fudge cake or caramel strawberry ice cream bring a simple, satisfying finish.

Coffee here is handled with care, made on a professional-grade machine with barista skill, so whether it’s a cappuccino, latte, or a straightforward espresso, you can expect it to complement the food just right. The inclusion of multiple plug points and USB charging spots signals that locals use this as a practical work or catch-up spot, making mornings or early afternoons the ideal time to visit if you want a quieter, settled environment.

In short, Kandy Cafe is best for those who appreciate reliably fresh food, solid coffee, and a space that quietly supports the working day. It’s not a destination for a boisterous brunch or weekend crowd, but for everyday neighborhood lunches, coffee breaks, or a steady start to your workday, it fits seamlessly into the local scene.

Lovely cozy space, very reasonably priced food. Was working in the area as a journalist and took up their tables for quite a long time. Owners and staff are lovely. They have charging for both three plug heads and usb. Absolutely rate it.

Popped in here while staying at the nearby Premier Inn for Breakfast. It is a really nice local cafe serving very tasty homemade food. Great value for money. The cafe had a very relaxed atmosphere and the staff were really friendly and welcoming. Will definitely return if staying in the area.

With their new evening menu and opening times on Friday and Saturday, this lovely little cafe has produced great evening food, the pork chops were amazing and the homemade sauce really made the meal! Homemade caramel for pudding and I am well and truly spoilt! Highly recommend it!
